This Privacy Policy describes how the Omi application ("we," "us," or "our"), hosted at https://omi.rice.edu, collects, uses, and shares user information. By using our service and signing in via Google OAuth, you agree to the terms outlined here.

2. Information We Collect

When you sign in using your Google Account, we access the following information via Google OAuth scopes:

• Email Address: To identify your account and send essential project communications.
• Basic Profile Information: Such as your name and profile picture to personalize your user experience within the app.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the data collected from Google strictly for:

• Authenticating your identity.
• Creating and maintaining your user profile on Omi.
• Providing the core functionality of the Omi application.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties. Your Google user data is not shared with any third-party tools or AI models unless explicitly stated for a specific feature you opt into.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data only as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your data from Omi, please contact us. Upon request, we will delete all records associated with your Google ID from our database within 30 days.

6. Security

We implement security measures to protect your information, hosted on Rice University infrastructure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
